J.D. Power's Automotive, Performance, Execution and Layout Study, also known as APEAL, ranks vehicles in a variety of categories based on surveys taken by over 83,000 drivers. Following the first 90 days after purchase, each driver who participates in the study is asked to rate how gratifying their new vehicle is to own and drive. Models with the highest ratings receive a coveted J.D.
