If you haven’t come in to check out the new 2015 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, here’s yet another feature that will prove their your top bets in the family SUV segment. Everyone knows that the Yukon series delivers exceptional passenger and cargo space, available new Wi-Fi capability and other awesome options like a hands-free liftgate - but there’s one feature many haven’t heard about that’s truly a parent-saver.
Parents on GMC’s design team worked to get a conversation mirror added as standard equipment on all 2015 Yukon and Yukon XL models. It doesn’t take the place of the rearview mirror, but is instead smartly integrated in the sunglass holder and provides a wide view of the second- and third-row seats, so moms and dads can easily see what their kids are up to.
Approximately 30 percent of Yukon drivers have children who are under the age of 16, so parents on the Yukon team thought it would be prudent to include more family-friendly features, especially ones that make it easier for parents to keep an eye on their children. These particular members of GMC’s design crew also pulled from their own experience when coming up with the mirror feature.
“As a mom, when it came time to design the next-generation Yukon and Yukon XL, I wanted to give our customers a better way of keeping tabs on their kids without forcing them to turn around and take their eyes off the road,” said Kay Jarboe, product manager for the 2015 Yukon and Yukon XL.
In addition, many parents purchase aftermarket conversation mirrors, which indicates a need for this type of feature in family vehicles. GMC has met the need with its new conversation mirror, and when you come out to test drive the Yukon, we invite you to bring the whole family along to try it and the SUV’s many other family-oriented amenities out in person.
