The 2021 Buick Envision Preferred and Avenir run on the same platform. Having seating for five people, both SUVs have lots of signature technologies from General Motors.

Performance

Engineered to deliver up to 228 horsepower, a 2.0-liter engine propels the 2021 Envision Preferred. The General Motors ECOTEC family, the turbocharged powertrain pushes out 258 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 RPM and above. You may manually activate or deactivate the I-4 powerplant during a brief stop at the traffic light. A nine-speed automatic transmission with the Driver Shift Control technology is connected to the turbo engine. Creating a 3.47 axle ratio, the gearbox is compatible with an all-wheel drive.

Using the Active Twin Clutch, the AWD diverts the appropriate amount of torque to the wheels. Both Envision models have the Hill Descent Control function that ensures a safe drive on a downhill slope. A power steering system and the StabiliTrak technology are standard on these premium Buick SUVs. Optional only on the Avenir edition, the Continuously Damping Control softens the ride quality on the pavement. Having a 1,500-pound towing capacity, a trailer hitch is optional for these light-duty models. A wiring harness and other trailering provisions are installed for optimum handling.

Appearance

Some optional exterior colors for the 2021 Envision Preferred and Avenir include Ebony Twilight, Dark Moon Blue, Cinnabar, and Burnished Bronze. Measuring 18 inches in diameter, the base trim's aluminum wheels have the Bright Silver design. The Avenir model rolls on 20-inch aluminum wheels with the Pearl Nickel finish. Both Buick SUVs have a hands-free power liftgate with the signature logo projection. Silver-painted roof rails add style and function to these premium family cars.

Features

Measuring 8.0 inches diagonally, the Buick Infotainment System is available for the 2021 Envision Preferred. A 10.2-inch touch screen is standard inside the Avenir. Both Buick models have wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. You also have access to USB ports and Bluetooth inside the cockpit. A wireless charging system for smartphones is standard in the Avenir. This high-end edition has many other advanced technologies, like a head-up display and the HD Surround Vision. Additionally, the vehicle's Driver Information Center measures 8.0 inches in the instrument panel. Carrying the Bose logo, a nine-speaker audio system plays HD Radio and SiriusXM Satellite Radio in the Avenir model.
