Buick’s first convertible in 25 years promises to be an exceptional new offering for shoppers who want a drop-top driving experience. The 2016 Buick Cascada is scheduled to arrive in the Phoenix area early next year and Buick has revealed pricing on the available models.
The base trim will be offered with a starting MSRP of $33,990, though with available incentives and Van discounts you’ll likely be able to get into an entry-level model for less. Buick says standard amenities on the base Cascada will include:
- Rear park assist and a rear-vision camera
- 20-inch aluminum wheels featuring eye-catching bi-color finish
- Heated front seats and a heated leather-covered steering wheel
- Convenient 12-volt power outlets at the front and rear of the car
- IntelliLink infotainment with a 7-inch-diagonal color touchscreen
- LED daytime running lamps and taillamps, along with high-intensity discharge headlamps
- A sound- and thermal-insulated hydraulic roof capable of opening/closing in just 17 seconds
- Automatic, spring-loaded rollover bars behind the backseat that are connected to the car’s airbag system
- Remote engine start
- Dual-zone climate control
Compared with its direct competitor, the 2016 Audi A3 Cabriolet, the new Cascada is thousands less in price and offers greater horsepower, with a 1.6-liter Turbo engine that produces 200 hp, compared to the A3’s 170-hp turbo engine.
Also available, Buick says a Cascada Premium model will be offered with a starting MSRP of $36,990. With the Premium model, extra features and technologies are added to the equipment list, including:
- Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Alert
- Front and rear park assist
- Automatic headlights with tunnel detection
- Rainsense automatic windshield wipers
- Front and rear air deflectors that keep wind and rain away from the windows, resulting in less cabin noise and water spray
- 20-inch wheels that flaunt a unique “diamond graphic” bi-color finish
