Now through Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, the 60th Annual Arabian Horse Show is taking over WestWorld of Scottsdale, giving visitors the opportunity to see beautiful horses from all over the world compete for prizes. When the show first started six decades ago, it featured only about 50 horses and has grown rapidly since then, now drawing in almost 2,400 horses from some of the world’s best breeders and trainers.
Along with horse competitions, several activities are also featured at the show. A few notable mentions include behind the scenes barn tours, ceramic horse painting and “Meet an Arabian Horse” events, which give kids and adults a chance to get up close and personal with gorgeous Arabian horses that are dressed in their native garb.
Round pen demonstrations will also be offered and are free with paid admission, so you can learn from well-known and respected trainers for virtually no cost. In addition, the Arabian Horse Show will include an exhibit area with more demonstration areas and a variety of vendors who will be selling show apparel, clothing, art, jewelry, horse equipment and other items, many of which make great gifts. Several food vendors will be on site as well.
Tickets to the Arabian Horse Show are only $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and military. Children 12 and under can enter for free. WestWorld of Scottsdale is located at 16601 N. Pima Rd. Visit the Arabian Horse Show website for additional information about the event.
