Check out the enclosed video to see what might be the worst speed bumps in the nation or at least the worst we've ever seen. While speed bumps are designed to increase safety, most people dread driving over them for fear that the bouncing, rattling and vibration could result in an early trip to the auto repair shop. Some are much more tolerable to drive over than others, but we're sure these ones would make the majority of drivers cringe. View the video now.
It's one thing to want cars to slow down when traveling through your neighborhood, and speed bumps are used to slow down vehicles in a safe manner, but the five-tier bump captured in this video seems a tad overboard. We'd even bet that the area's residents must get a little tired of driving over those humps every day. Considering that trucks and SUVs had a hard time scaling the ripple of mounds, it's easy to imagine that smaller vehicles must fare a lot worse.
The best advice we have for dealing with speed bumps is to practice patience. Whether traveling over a regular speed bump, or a multi-hump monstrosity, it's best to come to a near stop and gently creep over them. Even going 10-15 mph is too fast and can potentially damage your vehicle's shocks.
