        Great Car

by Larry on 1/15/2026 2:46:44 AM

Have the 2006 with 18" tires fully loaded GT 3L. Bought in 2016, put in a water pump. That's it. Zero issues over 10 years. Great car!

        2006 Mazda 6s Sport Wagon

by Rotts on 9/29/2024 9:43:15 PM

I bought my 2006 Mazda 6s Sport Wagon in early 2008, for $14,500 with about 40,000 miles on it. It had the Ford DOHC 3-liter Duratech V-6 and a shiftable 6-speed A/T. 2006 was the last year Mazda offered a Mazda 6 wagon in the US. I put another 90,000 miles on it, and it was running perfectly, until fall, 2023 when it got rear-ended by a full-sized pickup truck and was totaled by the insurance company (got $7K for it). It was my second favorite car (first was a 4WD '86 Nissan Stanza Wagon) of the 30 cars I've owned over 60+ years. Other than two sets of Michelin tires, one full brake job, a set of shocks/struts, a couple of wheel alignments, and routine Castrol full-synthetic oil changes, everything worked perfectly for 131,000 miles. No rust anywhere. Never needed plugs or any seal work, or any other maintenance. It would cruise all day at 85 MPH and get 27MPG while doing so. My only regret is that it didn't have a sunroof. Wish I could find another one!
