2021 GMC Terrain

What's New For the 2021 GMC Terrain?

This year, the GMC Terrain receives a standard GMC Pro Safety package. This means every trim comes equipped with an impressive list of advanced safety technologies.

What Features Are Available for 2021?

GMC offers the new Terrain in five trim levels: SL, SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. The base SL trim is a strong value. It comes loaded with a lot of premium features. While GM's award-winning OnStar system provides around-the-clock emergency support, a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto enables drivers to access their mobile apps and music playlists.

Stepping up to SLE trim gives you access to a more powerful engine and all-wheel drive. There are also plenty of excellent options on the table, including heated front seats and remote start. The leather-appointed Terrain SLT feels even more luxurious. A powerful Bose premium sound system and navigation are on the list of options. The AT4 offers off-road suspension, increasing the stability and capabilities of the Terrain.

Resting atop the lineup is the Terrain Denali. A beautiful set of 19-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights are standard. Upgraded interior materials also give the SUV's cabin an exceptionally plush feel.

2021 Terrain Powertrain Options

Two different powertrains are available for the 2021 GMC Terrain. A 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine comes standard. It develops a competitive 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. Performance increases with the Terrain's available 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. GMC tunes it to produce a muscular 252 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are linked to a nine-speed automatic transmission. An upgraded suspension enables the range-topping Denali model to deliver an especially great ride.

GMC Terrain Safety at the Forefront

The big news for 2021 is the arrival of a standard GMC Pro Safety package. It adds forward collision alert, low-speed automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, and automatic high beams. Every new Terrain also features Teen Driver technology. Not only can this system provide a driving report card, but it also enables parents to set a speed limit for their teenagers. Blind-spot monitoring, a surround-view parking camera, and adaptive cruise control are a few of the available upgrades.
