Trims & Features

The 2018 Yukon is available in three trim levels that should be familiar to GMC enthusiasts: SLE, SLT, and the legendary Denali. The base SLE is comfortably appointed with a rear vision camera, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto all integrated into the eight-inch GMC Infotainment System, and all functions are conveniently controlled right from the steering wheel. The standard Rainsense front wipers will automatically respond to how heavy the weather is. The base model is also highly customizable with a slew of available features, including keyless open & start, a hands-free power programmable liftgate, and many features that can be controlled right from your smartphone via the MyGMC mobile app. The mid-level SLT trim transforms the look into one of luxury with chrome accents including 22-inch chrome wheels, a chrome grill, chrome bodyside moldings, and a polished exhaust tip. The interior becomes a little more comfortable as well, with perforated leather seats, the front two of which become 12-way power seats that integrate heating and ventilation. The steering wheel is also heated and wrapped in leather. The Infotainment system on the SLT is paired with a premium nine speaker Bose sound system, with a centrally mounted subwoofer right in the center console. The top of the line Denali adds a heads-up display, magnetic ride control, and a brawnier powertrain to the SLT package.

The SLE and SLT trims are packaged with a 5.3-liter Ecotec V8 engine that produces 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. The Denali has a larger 6.2-liter Ecotec V8 that makes 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The bigger engine also includes variable valve timing, direct injection, and Active Fuel Management, which activates or deactivates four of the eight cylinders based on load. This makes it capable of both brawn and economy, depending on what the situation calls for.

2018 GMC Yukon SideThe National Highway Traffic Safety Association rates the 2018 Yukon at 4 stars, and there are many available safety features to protect you and your passengers on the road. These include Forward Collision Alert, Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking, and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning for the SLE. All three of these technologies are standard on the SLT, as well as Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and IntelliBeam headlamps. The SLT is also available with GMC's Safety Alert Seat, which vibrates to alert the driver of potential dangers. When any of the onboard alert systems trigger an alert, the alert seat will vibrate on the left or right side, depending on the direction of the detected threat. For hazards to the front or rear, both sides will vibrate. Families will appreciate the available Teen Driver mode, a system that automatically activates certain safety systems, allows parents to set limits on other features, and provides an in-vehicle Report Card to help parents teach safe driving habits to their teens.
