What's New for the 2018 GMC Savana?

The GMC Savana has long been a staple in the cargo/passenger van category. Moving ahead into the new model year in 2018, GMC has made some exciting updates to the Savana. To help with the van's fuel economy and smooth ride, GMC has swapped the old V8 motor out of the Savana for the new 4.3-liter, V6 LV1 engine with spark ignition direct injection and variable valve timing technologies. With that swap to the new V6, GMC has completed the powertrain with a bump up in the transmission by adding an 8-speed automatic in the van where its predecessors had a 6-speed. With the switch to a more efficient engine, the power that has always been in the GMC Savana line of vans has not lost any of the horsepower or torque either.
