2024 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 vs 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X

With the GMC Sierra 1500, you need not search further for a work-ready light-duty pickup truck. This truck boasts high-tech features, rugged 4x4 systems, and a range of powerful engines, including an impressive diesel V8. For those looking to tackle off-road adventures and power through work projects, the GMC Sierra 1500 offers the perfect trim options. Both the AT4 and AT4X are designed for off-road excellence.

Performance

The AT4 and AT4X come standard with a 3.0L Duramax turbo diesel engine, delivering 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. Diesel enthusiasts will appreciate the performance of both models. However, they differ slightly in terms of off-road equipment and stability. The AT4X includes a driver-selectable full-locking front and rear differential, which is not available on the AT4. Additionally, the AT4X features an off-road suspension system with a 2" factory-installed lift and Multimatic DSSV dampers, enhancing its off-road handling capabilities.

Appearance

All 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 trucks have a bold and aggressive look. The AT4X stands out with 18" painted aluminum wheels with dark-painted pockets and 18" mud-terrain Goodyear Wrangler Territory blackwall tires, whereas the AT4 comes with 18" machined aluminum wheels with dark accents. The AT4X can be further customized with exclusive exterior features, such as black decorative rings for beadlock-capable wheels and an AEV stamped-steel high approach front bumper, which are not available on the AT4.

Features

The truck cabin is the hub of productivity for drivers. Both the AT4 and AT4X have impressive interior designs and advanced technology. The AT4 includes a 12.3-inch color driver information system and a 10-way power driver seat, features that are also standard on the AT4X. The AT4X adds more standard features, such as a head-up display, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a rear camera mirror.
