There’s no place like Scottsdale for the holidays!
And while we may lack the cold weather and snow, we certainly make up for it with holiday cheer. In fact, starting Nov. 25, 2017, our beautiful city will kick off its month-long celebration, “Scottsdazzle.” This exciting local tradition brings a variety of festive activities and attractions to Old Town, including these popular events.
Tree Lighting Ceremony & Sing-Along
At 7 p.m. on Nov. 25, head down to the Soleri Bridge for the annual tree lighting ceremony! Nutcrackers, Sugar Plum Fairies and even Santa Claus himself will come out to see this one-of-a-kind Italian tree light up the Scottsdale Waterfront.
As a wise elf once said, “the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear,” and for the first time ever, the ceremony will include a holiday sing-a-long event. Guests will receive a complimentary song book, so don’t worry about not knowing the words!
Canal Concerts
On Saturday evenings in December from 7-8:30 p.m., Scottsdale residents can enjoy free musical performances by talented groups like the Phoenix Boys Choir, Phoenix Women’s Chorus, Campanillas del Sol Handbell Ensemble and MC6 A Capella. From old classics to contemporary tunes, you’re sure to hear all of your favorite holiday songs here!
Sugar Plum Avenue Festival
From 3-7 p.m. on Dec. 16, the 5th Avenue Shopping District will transform into the Kingdom of Sweets! Guests are sure to be enchanted by the interactive Nutcrackers, Sugar Plum Fairies and other magical characters that stroll throughout the festival. Additionally, there are plenty of fun, free activities to partake in, including face-painting, carriage rides, bounce houses and more.
