Buick Makes the Grade in 2017 J.D. Power Dependability Study

Dependability is a word that has long been associated with Buick, and once more, the automaker has been formally recognized for it. Out of 31 brands considered in J.D. Power’s annual Vehicle Dependability Study, Buick came in as the fourth highest overall, third among luxury brands.

What is the Vehicle Dependability Study?

Each year, J.D. Power conducts an in-depth assessment of vehicle quality that evaluates vehicles based on the number of reported problems made by original owners. At the time of assessment, each vehicle is three-years-old, meaning that this year’s study looked at 2014 nameplates.

Problems reported include areas like engine and transmission and other performance parts, as well as cabin features, entertainment technology and overall quality.

Buick: A Perennial Favorite

Year after year, Buick scores high in the study, reflecting both the high quality of their vehicles and the satisfaction customers have with them. From delivering impressive performance and comfort to offering the latest technology and conveniences, Buick continues to be a leader in luxury vehicles.

However, it’s not just the Vehicle Dependability Study that reflects Buick’s leading position. Recently, Buick also ranked highest among mass market brands when it comes to dealer service, as found in J.D. Power’s 2017 Customer Service Index Study.

On top of that, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration awarded every model in the lineup with a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Safety award for the third consecutive year, making it one of the only automakers to do so.
