Whether you are a seasoned runner or have a resolution to get in shape, you’re welcome to sign up for this year’s Giant Race 10K or 3 Mile! Taking place in downtown Scottsdale on Saturday, March 4, 2017, the annual Giant Race is the perfect way to enjoy the cool spring weather while raising money for local charity.
The annual Giant Race is a four-part series racing event that takes place here in Scottsdale and throughout California. Each race brings local runners together in order to raise money for different charities. The Scottsdale chapter benefits a local nonprofit, The Charro Foundation, and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
The race kicks off bright and early at 7:00 a.m. at Scottsdale Stadium, taking runners of both the 10K and 3 Mile on a scenic tour through Scottsdale with a big finish on the stadium field. Those who complete the race will be awarded with a technical race t-shirt and a medal, plus an opportunity to get Giants Spring Training tickets!
Not much of a runner but still want to get involved? No problem! The Scottsdale Giants Race has plenty of volunteer positions to sign up for, including:
- Course monitors
- Start/finish line organizers
- Water station attendants
- Spirit squad cheerleaders
To sign up either for a race or a volunteer position, please visit the Scottsdale Giant Race website. Registration closes on March 2, so be sure to get your application in before then. Happy racing!
