Desert Botanical Garden will be hosting Ballet Arizona’s latest production, “Round,” from May 17-June 4, 2016. Running Tuesdays-Saturdays, this stunning ballet performance will bring to light the beauty of dance and nature right in the garden’s outdoor Events Plaza.
Each hour-long performance of “Round” will explore man’s connection to nature, while embracing the exquisite Sonoran desert setting. An all-new 360-degree stage was created specifically for the ballet, giving each audience member a unique view of the dancers and garden landscape. During its run at DBG, a total of 14 evening performances of “Round” will be held, with each beginning at 8 p.m.
“This will be an experience like no other for our audiences,” said Ballet Arizona Artistic Director Ib Andersen. “Round is a rare opportunity to see ballet performed in-the-round. It’s a great challenge to choreograph and present a distinct perspective for each person based on where they sit. I think patrons will want to attend more than once to experience Round in different ways.”
