The 2018 Buick Regal will officially be available as a wagon when it’s released on the market in the near future. This information was recently shared during Buick’s annual dealer meeting in Austin, Texas, where the automaker showed off the new Regal, along with the upcoming Regal GS.
When the Regal arrives in Scottsdale in 2018, it will be available as a sedan, liftback and wagon. The new model will also share the same platform as the Chevy Malibu, which means it will be lighter than the current Regal and offer more rear legroom, improving overall comfort for passengers. While there still isn’t much information about the 2018 Regal, we do know the car will be offered with a set of turbocharged engines. Each one will be matched with a brand-new eight-speed automatic transmission that will help support its performance offerings and enhance the driving experience.
In addition to the car’s standard engines, a hybrid powertrain may also be available on the upcoming Regal. There’s no guarantee the eco-friendly system will appear on the new model, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed in hopes that green buyers will have a new option to choose from.
