If you own an Apple device with an iOS 7.1 or higher operating system, you’ll have access to the new CarPlay system that’s featured on select 2016 Buick and GMC models! Apple CarPlay is accessed through the IntelliLink infotainment system and gives iPhone users a smarter, safer way to use their mobile devices on the road.

Through a touch-screen menu on the dashboard display, you can manage a wide range of applications. The menu is responsive and easy-to-navigate, so finding what you need is quick and easy. Siri is also available to help you by voice, as well. Whether you want to get directions, view maps, find and play music, take calls or compose text messages, Apple CarPlay provides the ability to do so in a safe, simple manner. Phone apps like At Bat, Audiobooks.com, CBS Radio, Podcasts and more are also accessible, offering a truly connected experience in which you can get information, music and news on demand.

If you’re an Android user, don’t worry. You haven’t been left out of the fun. Android Auto offers similar capabilities and GM says it’ll feature the new technology later in the model year. Both Apply CarPlay and Android Auto deliver the connected driving experience desired by today’s consumers and they complement features like the OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot that’s available on the entire 2016 Buick and GMC lineup.
