Getting into an accident is scary and stressful, but knowing what actions to take if one occurs can help you save time, money and hassle. Scroll down to check out Van Collision Center's start to finish guide on what to do if you're involved in a collision.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Van Collision Center is the official body shop for Van Buick GMC. During our time on the job, we have seen everything from small dents and dings to what we'd call "train wrecks," and our skilled technicians have used their expertise to make each and every vehicle - regardless of its condition - look like new again. If you have been in an accident, there are a few key things you should know to help smooth the process of getting your car back in shape.

FOLLOWING THE MOMENT OF IMPACT

Try to stay calm. Check yourself for injuries and make sure the other person involved is okay. Then, if you haven't already done so, move the vehicles off of the road and call 911. Find out the other driver's name, phone number, insurance company, policy number, license plate number, and vehicle make, model and year. Note down damages and take photos of all vehicles involved if you have a camera. It is wise not to talk about who or what caused the accident. This will be determined by the police officer when they arrive to the scene and get information from both parties.

CHOOSING AN AUTO REPAIR CENTER

You have the power to decide where you want to get your car repaired. By law, you cannot be forced to have your vehicle worked on by a specific facility and should, therefore, choose a body shop that has your best interests in mind. If your insurance company is adamant about you using a specific facility, they may be "steering" you, but remember that you have the final say as to where you want to take your car.

YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY

If you bring your car in to Van Collision Center, you won't have to worry about dealing with your insurance company on your own. All you have to do is call in to report the claim and let them know that you will be taking your car to our facility. After that, we'll take care of everything. Van Collision Center is an Approved Repair Facility for most insurance companies and we can work with any insurance company, even if we are not contracted with them.

Van Collision is conveniently located at 15600 N. Northsight Blvd. in Phoenix, Arizona.
