2018 Buick Regal GS

If you’re in the market for a high-powered sport sedan, the top-of-the-line Buick Regal GS may just quench your thirst for thrills. Refreshed for 2018, the Regal GS will arrive in Scottsdale early next year with a brand-new propulsion system, as well as several performance upgrades. Get the first look at these changes below!

“With the all-new 2018 Regal GS, we set out to make a driver-focused, engaging and entertaining sport sedan without sacrificing the smooth ride and refined character expected of any modern Buick,” said Martin Hayes, chief engineer for the Buick Regal GS. “Our new V-6 and nine-speed transmission, intelligent AWD and CDC [Continuous Damping Control] all work to deliver excellent driving performance.”

The newest iteration of this premium sedan bids adieu to last year’s turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, swapping it for a more robust 3.6-liter V6. Rated at 310 horsepower and 282 pound-feet of torque, Scottsdale car shoppers will find that the Regal GS offers more power than competitors like the Lexus IS 350 F-Sport and the Acura TLX A-Spec. Paired with this new powerplant is a nine-speed automatic transmission, which offers faster acceleration and smoother shifts.

Another change that Regal fans are sure to appreciate is the newly standard Intelligent All-Wheel Drive System with active twin clutch, which electronically transfers torque between the axles and between the rear wheels as needed. This system, as well as a new 5-link suspension, Interactive Drive Control and Continuous Damping Control, give the premium sedan a more magnetic driving experience. Other sporty upgrades include 19-inch wheels, Brembo brakes, a decklid spoiler and front sports seats.
